“American Idol” held its second annual “Idol Gives Back” Sunday night, (to air this Wednesday) a charity themed competition to raise money for underprivileged children. In addition to hosting the event, Ryan Seacrest also donated his entire paycheck to the cause.

“When he and Simon went to Africa last year and saw the children, it was really life-altering for him,” says the source. “He just knew he had to do his part and be willing to put his money where his mouth is.”

You know, that’s great. That’s just really great. I always assumed FOX paid Ryan in leftover sandwiches and Simon Cowell’s chest hair trimmings, but they give him an actual paycheck. That’s very generous of them! Oh, and you know, the charity thing … That’s good too.

David Cook performed a Dolly Parton hit Little Sparrow on Tuesday night’s American Idol show. He experienced what he described as heart palpitations afterward and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

After the live show, the other Idol contestants sat on the bleachers to watch Jordin Sparks, last years Idol winner and R&B singer Chris Brown perform their new single No Air. This was a taped segment that will be shown at a later date.

Representatives for the show indicate that Cook had a problem with his blood pressure. He was treated and released and is reportedly doing just fine.

According to The National Enquirer someone is shopping around naked pictures of Amanda Overmyer. Someone from Amanda’s home state of Indiana wants big cash for the pictures and they have been contacting the tabloids. Big cash? They’ll be lucky to get a half-smoked pack of Reds and a bottle of Mickey’s Malt.

The source said, “Someone in her home state of Indiana is shopping nude pictures of Amanda-and they’ve been offered big money… If those pictures pop up on the Internet, Idol will have another huge scandal on its hands.”

Is this story valid? We doubt it. Overmyer doesn’t seem like the sex kitten type. Remember, though: The National Enquirer was also first to report awhile back that Vanessa Hudgens nude shots existed… and that turned out to be true!
