Prince William and his new wife Kate arrived on Friday evening at Buckingham Palace for their evening reception, with the bride changing from her much-talked-about gown into a second Sarah Burton creation, a white strapless evening dress.
After a brief rest at the home of William’s father Prince Charles, the newlyweds returned to the palace for a dinner with about 300 family and friends.
St. James’s Palace said William’s bride had changed into her second outfit of the day, a strapless white satin evening gown with a circle skirt and diamante embroidered detail round the waist.
The newly titled Duchess of Cambridge was also wearing a white angora bolero cardigan, St James’s Palace said.
Prince William was dressed in a dinner jacket with a black bow tie.
The couple were accompanied by Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
The Dukes of Cambridge will spend their first night as a married couple at Buckingham Palace.
