Actor Randy Quaid and his wife Evi were arrested yesterday in Texas on burglary, defrauding an innkeeper and conspiracy charges after they failed to pay the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara the thousands of dollars they owed after an extended stay. This isn’t the first time the pair has been accused of the dine-and-dash approach to swanky hotels, either — TMZ says they also stiffed Bel Air Hotel in L.A., among other places. Presidio County Sheriff’s deputies said:

Randy assaulted [the police] both physically and verbally and resisted arrest, but [we] will not file charges. The Sheriff’s office is in touch with officials in Santa Barbara County, who want Randy and Evi extradited.

When asked for a statement, Randy reportedly said, “Well, I got laid off when they closed that asbestos factory, and wouldn’t you know it, the army cuts my disability pension because they said that the plate in my head wasn’t big enough. Well, I didn’t want to ask you, you know, but could you maybe spare a little extra cash?” Clark W. Griswold was unavailable for comment.

Victoria Principal of Dallas fame is being sued for pulling a gun on her maid and threatening to kill her. Maribel Banegas, the maid, claims that she took Victoria’s dog for a walk only to come back to an angry Victoria wondering why it took so long.

Banegas explained the dog wouldn’t do his business, but that explanation didn’t cut it so Victoria fired her. When Banegas made the mistake of asking for her final check, Victoria went upstairs, got her gun and “then pointed and aimed at the maid.”

Victoria asked another housekeeper nearby to “stand aside in order that she could kill the plaintiff.”

Maribel Banegas is suing for an unspecified amount alleging assault, false imprisonment and emotional distress.

In Victoria’s defense, Maribel made Mei-Ling, the dog, late for her gown fitting. Do you know how hard it’d be to get another appointment?

Real Housewives of New York City star Kelly Killoren Bensimon was arrested last week on charges that she assaulted her estranged boyfriend.

The 40-year-old reality personality’s boyfriend Nicholas Stefanov told police that Kelly punched him in the face, causing a laceration below his left eye.

She turned herself in on Thursday and was slapped with a misdemeanor charge of assault.

“Last week, Ms. Bensimon was charged with a misdemeanor and has entered a plea of not guilty,” says her attorney. “We are confident that the charges are unfounded and we look forward to a quick resolution.”

Kelly is due back in court on March 31.

R. Kelly’s 15-year-old nephew was shot late last night — and cops say he was trying to rob a barbershop.

The nephew was shot twice by the store owner, according to police — but the victim’s father Carey Kelly (R.’s brother) says the kid may have just been an innocent victim of someone else who was robbing the store.

The nephew is currently being treated at a Chicago area hospital for a chest wound.

Anne Hathaway’s ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri was sentenced to 4½ years in prison yesterday after pleading guilty to 14 counts of wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy back in September. According to People Magazine

Follieri, who conceivably could have faced up to 265 years in prison, had agreed not to appeal a sentence less than 63 months in prison. The bureau of prisons will decide the level of security under which he’ll be placed.

Follieri delivered a statement in which he said, “What I did was wrong and there is no point in making excuses. … I will never be able to wash away the shame. … I just hope that someday those who have been hurt by my actions will forgive me.”

I suppose 4½ years is still better than 265 years. Even though 4½ civilian years actually translates to – let’s see, carry the one, divide by five, and… roughly 3,768 ass-rapings, give or take a few. Los Angeles police arrested Don Cornelius on Friday for felony domestic violence. The Soul Train host reportedly beat on some broad at his home on Mulholland Drive early Friday evening.

Someone called from Cornelius’ home and LAPD responded to a “domestic dispute.” After arriving on scene, they arrested 72-year-old Cornelius on charges of felony domestic violence. He was taken to the LAPD jail in Van Nuys where his bail was set at $50,000. He was released at 5 AM.

Cornelius is married to Victoria although the identity of the victim has not been released. The victim was not taken to the hospital and injuries are unknown.

Neighbors claim to have heard the 72 year old producer yell “I’m Don Cornelius, Bitch!” before an audible smack. Sadly, he’s been charged with “Laying down the strong pimp hand on a triflin’ bitch,” a felony — but the charges may be reduced to “Bitch, where’s my money,” a minor offense.

Her attorney, Lee Ofman, issued the following statement to Usmagazine.com Monday:

“In accordance with an agreement we have reached with the district attorney of Williamson County, Tennessee, Ms. McCready will voluntarily surrender to authorities on September 30th to serve a sentence of 60 days. The successful completion of this sentence will satisfy her obligation to the State of Tennessee resulting from her probation violation.”

Speaking directly to her fans, McCready said, “I am working very hard to put all of this behind me as quickly as possible so I can get back to what I like to do most: sing, write songs, and entertain. I would like to thank my fans for their unwavering support as I continue to work on my recovery and to regain custody of my precious son, Zander.”
