During the amazingly horrific crap fiesta known as the MTV VMAs, the low-rent Ugly Betty aka Jordin Sparks, defended promise rings. Earlier in the night, host Russell Brand told a few stupid jokes about the Jonas Brothers and their purity rings. It wasn’t a big deal, but Jordin was offended.

Before presenting an award with John Legend, she said:

“I just have one thing to say about promise rings. It’s not bad to wear a promise ring. Because not everybody – guy or girl – wants to be a slut.”

Yes, Jordan is right. If you wear a purity ring, your genitals will forever be pure, fresh and innocent. If you don’t wear one, you are a major slut whose genitals will soon fall off from all of the sins it’s committed. Hey, works for me.

It’s official! “American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks will release her as-yet-untitled debut album on November 20 through 19 Recordings/Jive.

“‘American Idol’ has truly been a life altering experience,” Sparks said. “I can’t wait to share this next chapter of my story with all the fans that have supported me so far.”

Even though her album doesn’t his stores until November, Sparks debuts her long-awaited first single, ‘Tattoo,’ today.

And The Next American Idol Is… Jordin Sparks »

Jordin Sparks was crowned Wednesday as the newest and youngest American Idol

The season finale was loaded with Hollywood icons such as Bette Midler, Tony Bennett and Smokey Robinson.

I enjoyed the season finale more than I thought I would.

Jordin Sparks, a teenager with a big voice and big dreams, was crowned Wednesday as the newest and youngest American Idol.

Sparks, 17, of Glendale, Ariz., prevailed over beatboxer Blake Lewis, 25, of Bothell, Wash., after a triumphant performance Tuesday that wowed the show’s judges and the viewers who gave her the majority of the record 74 million votes cast.

“Mom, Dad, I love you,” Sparks, the daughter of retired NFL player Phillippi Sparks, said after hugging Lewis.

So from what I read Jordin was crowned the winner. Which is no surprise to me. Once she cried last night I knew she had it in the bag. All in all though, I thought Blake was better, but it was obvious that Jordin is the one who was going to win.
