When Joaquin Phoenix made his big announcement that he was retiring from showbiz, it was probably the most anyone has talked about Joaquin Phoenix in, well, ever. So I guess he figured he was going to milk this whole “leaving showbiz” thing for all it was worth, appearing at a film festival in Los Angeles this weekend with “GOOD BYE!” written on his knuckles. I’m sure we can expect to see “NeedsPumping MyStomach” and “ForFood WillWork” on his fists in the upcoming months.

Joaquin Phoenix made a strong statement yesterday night by accepting his People Choice Award with only signs, saying he’s “speechless without the writers”. And while I absolutely appreciate the sentiment, someone else might be a little more qualified to take this stand.
