Stephen Gately of the Irish boy band Boyzone was found dead yesterday while on vacation in Majorca, Spain with his husband Andrew Cowles. Stephen was only 33.

There aren’t many details about Stephen’s death since the police are still conducting an investigation. The police said there were no signs of violence. One of Stephen’s told The News of the World that he went out for a few drinks, came back to his house, fell asleep and never woke up.

The members of Boyzone are now on their way to Spain. The group’s Louis Walsh said this:

“We’re all absolutely devastated. I’m in complete shock. I was only with him on Monday at an awards ceremony. We don’t know much about what’s happened yet. I only heard after The X Factor and we will rally around each other this week. He was a great man.”

Stephen, who was working on his first children’s novel at the time of his death, is survived by his husband Andrew.

The ex-husband of Matt Lucas, the co-brains of Little Britain, was found dead in his home yesterday morning. The Telegraph reports that Kevin McGee hanged himself after writing this suicide note on his Facebook account: “Kevin McGee thinks death is much better than life.”

Matt and Kevin were married in 2006, but they divorced last year. Some say that Matt just couldn’t take Kevin’s constant drug use.

Friends of Matt say he’s “completely destroyed” and it doesn’t help that he’s currently starring in Prick Up Your Years in the West End. Anybody who has seen the movie or play knows it’s about tragic gay sadness. Sad.

Patrick Swayze died today at the age of 57. Swayze died after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 20 months ago in March of 2008. Swayze’s publicist, Annett Wolf, said today:

“Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months.”

Swayze recently filmed an A&E drama called The Beast, and compiled a memoir with his wife.

We are very sad to lose another good Hollywood actor.

TMZ and The New York Post are both reporting that DJ AM, real name Adam Goldstein, was found dead this afternoon in his NYC apartment. He was only 36.

The cops say his friends had not heard from him for a few days. When his friends went to check on him, they didn’t get any response after knocking on his door. The police were called and they knocked down the door to his apartment. Sources tell the NY Post that drug paraphernalia was found in his apartment.

It was almost a year ago when DJ AM and Travis Barker both survived a fatal plane crash in South Carolina.

This is absolutely crazy and tragic. Everyone on Twitter is saying this is like Final Destination (and the fourth movie opens today, gulp). I don’t know about that, but I do know this is all sorts of sad. The Summer of Death needs to end. Can it be Autumn already?

Infomercial king Billy Mays has passed away.

The TV pitchman was found dead at his home in Florida on Sunday.

Like Michael Jackson, Mays was also 50 years old.

Police say they don’t think foul play was involved, however no official cause of death has been determined yet.

Legendary “Tonight Show” sidekick Ed McMahon has passed away at the age of 86. TMZ reports

He died at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in California this morning. McMahon was fighting a multitude of health problems, including cancer.

He is best known as Johnny Carson’s sidekick on “The Tonight Show” and for his infamous catchphrase, “Heeeeeeeeeeere’s Johnny!”

With Carson and MacMahon reunited again, heaven just got a whole lot funnier! Unless, of course, Johnny Carson went to hell. Then it’s just sad again.

“Kill Bill” star David Carradine was found dead in a Bangkok hotel room yesterday. At this time there are conflicting reports as to how he died, but at least one source is saying it was suicide. MSNBC says:

A spokesman for the U.S. Embassy, Michael Turner, confirmed the death of the 72-year-old actor. He says Carradine died either late Wednesday or early Thursday, but he could not provide further details out of consideration for his family.
The Web site of the newspaper The Nation cited unidentified police sources as saying Carradine was found Thursday hanged in his luxury hotel room and is believed to have committed suicide.

Thankfully he was in Bangkok to film a movie, because that’s the only good reason a white guy would travel alone to Bangkok.

TMZ delivers the shitty news that the awesome Dom DeLuise passed away in his sleep last night at a hospital in Los Angeles. They don’t know what the cause of death is right now. Dom was 75. No details have been released. Somewhere out there Burt Reynolds dropped to his knees and screamed “Nooooooo!” at the skies.

Dom starred in ten zillion hilarious movies including The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, The Cannonball Run, The Cannonball Run II, Blazing Saddles, History of the World, Robin Hood: Men In Tights, Spaceballs (as Pizza The Hut) and Silent Movie. Dom was also my favorite host of Candid Camera.

Thank you for a million laughs, Dom! You will be missed.

Known as “The Executioner,” Levens competed in several different MMA leagues, including the IFL, WEC and UFC, with a career record of 9-8.

Levens was once defeated by Evan Tanner, whose body was discovered in the desert earlier in September.

Authorities are investigating the case as a possible murder/suicide.

Boy, could he play the drums.

He always remained a hero and an icon. Nobody played like Mitch. He was a true pioneer. Before anyone else had even thought of ‘fusion,’ Mitch was playing ripping jazz shit all over the Hendrix stuff. The first album is off the hook that way. And then on ‘Electric Ladyland’, he smoothed everything out, less intense and manic, very fluid. I still get chills hearing it. The ‘Cry Of Love’ record really is a great piece of work by Mitch as well. I still use a particular fill that he wrote on the song ‘Freedom’ till this day in the RATT show, and everytime I do it, I think of Mitch. Thanks, Mitch! Your unparalleled legacy remains.

Up until his death, Mitch Mitchell was dedicated to keeping the music and legend of Jimi Hendrix alive all these years. He was even touring with the Experience Hendrix Tribute tour upon his death.

Janie Hendrix, step-sister of Jimi and chief executive of the Experience Hendrix Tribute tour, had this to say about Mitchell:

“He was a wonderful man, a brilliant musician and a true friend. His role in shaping the sound of The Jimi Hendrix Experience cannot be underestimated.”
