Despite being nominated in six categories, Amy Winehouse will not be appearing at the Grammys on Sunday. Her visa application was denied today by the U.S. Embassy in London. In a statement issued today, Amy’s publicist said:

“Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery. There will of course be other opportunities and she very much looks forward to visiting America in the near future.”

She may appear live via satellite from London.

The Grammy hos should get the next best thing if they can’t have Winehouse. Britney! She can twirl that weave up into a hive and she’s even got the British accent down! Nobody will know the difference. Well, except for the singing part …
