As is tradition, Prince William and Kate Middleton decided to serve their guests a multi-tiered fruit cake after they were crowned the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

But if you thought it would look like something your Grandmother punches out every December 25th, you were sadly mistaken!

This glorious eight tiered cake was designed by Fiona Cairns and made from 17 individual fruit cakes.
