Controversial television journalist Martin Bashir has a brain tumor.
The growth on his pituitary gland, which is believed to be benign, was discovered after Martin suffered a head injury on the set of ABC’s Nightline, where he serves as a featured anchor.
“It has been a very worrying time, but the good news is that the specialists don’t want to operate on the tumor yet,” a pal tells the Daily Mirror. “If he hadn’t had the knock, he would never have known about the tumour. He sees it as a blessing in disguise.”
Bashir is best known for his telling interview with Princess Diana and Michael Jackson.
