Amy Forgets About Rehab, Buys Chair
Dec 1, 2007 in Amy Winehouse

Although Amy Winehouse reportedly promised family and friends she would check into rehab, she apparently changed her mind. Amy, who canceled the remaining dates of her 2007 due to “doctor’s orders,” was spotted lugging a chair around the SoHo area of London this week.
She was seen sauntering into a newsagent to pick up some papers and magazines before emerging from a furniture store with a chair, which she dragged along a street with a friend.
It was expected that she had returned to the Causeway Clinic in Essex, where she has already undergone two unsuccessful attempts to wean herself off drugs.
After a series of disturbing pictures emerged last week showing her with a suspicious white substance lodged in her nostrils after several gigs in which she slurred incoherently and stumbled onstage, she was seen by doctors at a London Clinic in Harley Street, who ordered her to seek help for her drug addiction.
Amy’s mother-in-law said the singer has been a mess since her husband Blake was ordered to jail.
Her mother-in-law, hair salon owner Georgette Civil, 42, said she was “delighted” by the decision to scrap the remaining six dates of the tour.
She said: “Now we can get her into rehab and persuade her to get the professional help she needs.
“I am so relieved. Cancelling the tour is the best thing she could have done. Now she can concentrate on getting better and keeping herself clean. She needs to be left alone to get herself together.
“She was in pieces about cancelling the tour. She does not want to let her fans down but she has no choice. She has been on the phone sobbing: ‘I cannot cope anymore.’ She just cannot stop crying and says she just wants peace. She is finding it very hard without Blake and is absolutely exhausted.
“Amy is not eating or sleeping properly, has no one to look after her and is having a tough time.”
Well, hopefully Amy can get some rest on that new chair she purchased.
