Is Cameron Diaz making sweet music with another soccer-mom-approved rocker? The actress was spotted hanging out with John Mayer on Wednesday (Aug 15) night in New York City, reports Us Weekly.

“They went out to several places … It was the two of them, getting to know each other, out on the town,” a source tells the mag.

It seems Mayer hasn’t had a lot of time to discover if Diaz’s body is a wonderland.

“This was technically not their first time hanging out…they’ve hung out together with friends before,” adds the source. “But this was the first time together like this. It’s new and developing…but they really like each other and it went well.”

As worrying as the combination may be, it warms our heart that yesterday’s rumours of a fledging romance between the wuss rocker and our current girl-crush, Mandy Moore, have been quashed.
